The legacy context menu now appears on the screen, select the ‘Rename’ option from the menu and give another name to the file. Alternatively, you can simply select the file and press SHIFT + F10 keyboard shortcut to reveal the old menu. To rename a file using the old menu, right-click on the file and select ‘Show more options’ in the context menu. Rename a File from the Legacy Context MenuĪlthough Windows 11 has revamped the context menu, it hasn’t completely done away with the old format that we known and used for ages. Now, you can enter the desired name for it. To rename a file from the command bar at top, select the file and then click on the ‘Rename’ icon in the ‘Command Bar’. The command bar, at the top, has a bunch of relevant options which makes navigating through them a lot easier. Windows 11 has the ‘Rename’ icon in the new command bar as well, along with other icons.
